What was exclusively a small, shabby chic furniture store almost two years ago, knot too shabby is so much more today!
You may not have noticed, but I've taken a bit of a blogging break. Not intentionally, it's just that my focus has been on fixing up the look and feel of the store. And, with the growing demand for paint, I've been dedicating more and more space to paint and paint related products.
Extending past all of the paint product and display cabinets, I've added an extra ten feet of space for supplies.
Paint brushes in different styles and varieties, waxing brushes, sanding blocks, buffing rags...
I FINALLY hung my awesome Chalk Paint® decorative paint by Annie Sloan image transfer that Michelle Black photographed and made for me as well as the file rack for workshop fliers and other brochures.
I painted up a new shelving unit in Old White and Graphite Chalk Paint® and painted 29 books in the different Chalk Paint® shades (all colors except Old White) as a color display.
The front covers and spines have a dark wax finish and the back cover is clear wax as a sampling of how the shades change depending on the wax finish.
I free-handed the paint colors on the spines.
An additional piece going in my paint display is this piano. Wait til' you see the finished pictures of how we are using this as an educational piece in the store.
On a side note, I had fun with the Chalk Paint® this week and repurposed some old violin cases as wall hooks. Greek Blue and Arles transform these vintage pieces and make for a good conversation piece.
Come check out our new displays this weekend. Thursday, June 20th is the first "Third Thursday" in the Glendora Village where businesses and restaurants will be open until 8:30 pm and we are always open late on Friday nights until 8:00 pm. Plus, Glendora Farmers Market is Saturday morning from 10:00-2:00. It just seems that there are lots of reasons to visit the Village. :) See you Downtown!
